CFPB v. Tempoe, LLC
Tempoe, LLC
The CFPB found Tempoe, LLC engaged in unfair leasing practices and is distributing more than $192 million to consumers who leased from the company between 2015 and September 2023 without required disclosures. JND Legal Administration handles payments; distribution has been ongoing since October 2024.
Who may qualify
Eligible victims include consumers who entered into lease agreements with Tempoe from January 1, 2015, to September 11, 2023, where the lease was extended on a month-to-month basis for more than six months after the initial term, and Tempoe failed to provide the required additional disclosures.
The $192M figure is consumer redress only. Separately, Tempoe paid a $2,000,000 civil money penalty to the CFPB (not distributed to consumers) — do not conflate the two when describing the settlement amount. No consumer deadline exists: CFPB page confirms distribution "Ongoing" since 2024-10-24 with no stated cutoff (re-verified 2026-07-24). NULL deadline is correct here, not a data gap.
